When a conversation needs a neutral person in the room.

For conversations that have got stuck
Between colleagues, or between a manager and their team.
A chance to resolve it without a formal outcome either side has to live with.
When time off is really about something at work that hasn't been said.
Disagreements over selection, scoring or how a change was handled.
Usually one day, start to finish
- 1A short first call
Free and confidential, to see whether mediation suits the situation.
- 2Separate conversations
The mediator speaks to each person on their own first.
- 3A joint meeting
Usually on the same day, in person or online, at a pace both can manage.
- 4An agreement in their words
What each person will do next. Not legally binding unless both choose that.
An accredited mediator, from £500 a day
Every session is led by a mediator accredited by the Civil Mediation Council who specialises in employment disputes, across the private and public sectors. The first call is free and the fee is confirmed before anything starts. We receive a referral fee from our partner, which doesn't change the price you pay.
Talk to us about mediation

Is it confidential?
Yes. What's said in mediation stays there, unless both people agree otherwise or there's a risk of harm. The mediator explains the limits at the start.
Does everyone have to agree?
Yes. Mediation is voluntary, and either person can stop at any point.
What if it doesn't work?
Nothing is lost. Any formal process, such as a grievance, can carry on as it would have done.
Can an employee ask for it?
Yes. Employees and managers often suggest it. The employer usually agrees to arrange and pay for it.
Agreed a way forward? Put it in writing.
Record what you agreed with Agree it in writing, then finish with a letter, a settlement agreement or Acas. Free until everything is agreed.
