From your answers and the statutory rates in force on the dates you give. Every result shows its working line by line, and the PDFs include it in full, so you or anyone else can check each step.

Usually because of a different fact: a start date, weekly pay, notice in your contract, or an enhanced scheme. Compare the two line by line and ask about the first line that differs. We don't take sides, and if you can't resolve it, Acas can help for free.

Anything paid after your P45 is issued has to be taxed on code 0T, with no tax-free allowance. You'll usually get the extra back at the end of the tax year, or sooner by contacting HMRC. Our take-home pay calculator shows both cases.

It checks the statutory rules, such as qualifying service or earnings thresholds. Your contract or your employer's policy may still give you more, so it's worth asking. The result explains which rule applied.

England, Wales and Scotland, yes: employment law is the same across all three, and tax figures use Scottish rates where you tell us you're a Scottish taxpayer. Northern Ireland has separate employment law, so our calculators and documents don't cover it.

Use "Report a problem with a figure" on the result, or email us. It sends the rules version so we can check it quickly. If our calculation was wrong, we'll fix it and refund anyone affected.

Yes. Your receipt email has a link back to your documents: 30 days for the Statement and letter, 90 days for the Redundancy Pack. Change your answers, such as a new leaving date or pay figure, and download again at no cost. Each purchase covers one person.

Check you're using the full link from your receipt email, then run the calculator again in the tab it opens, and that it's within 30 days (90 for the Redundancy Pack). If it still won't open, email us with your purchase reference and we'll send a new one.

Documents are made straight away, so once downloaded the 14-day cancellation right doesn't apply. If the download failed, or something was wrong because of an error on our side, we'll fix it or refund you. See our terms.

No. What you type stays on your device and the documents are made there. We only keep a record of what was bought and when. See our privacy notice.

They're starting points with your figures filled in. Read them through, change anything that doesn't fit, and keep a copy of what you send. They aren't legal advice.

Ask the other person to make you a new one from inside the agreement, under "Records and access". Your old link stops working straight away. We can't recover it ourselves, because we never hold the key.

They may not have seen the email. Nudge them, or resend the invitation. Nothing has been paid, so there's nothing to lose by waiting.

It's free to start and to agree. Once everything is agreed, the employer pays £49.99 once to unlock the agreed terms and finishing documents for both of you. If you don't reach agreement, nobody pays.

If the relationship needs a conversation before anything is written down, yes. Our mediation partner can usually help in a day, and you can record what you agree in Agree it in writing afterwards.

Receipts and invoices come from Stripe by email. You can cancel a plan at any time from your account page, and access runs to the end of the year you've paid for.
